15 monthes old

Emma Lou is 15 months old, and I can hardly believe it....For those of you who don't live close by, here are some new things that Miss Emma is up to:

  • Talking all the time and about 15% of it words we recognize :)...some of her words are: please, thanks, cheese, baby, hi, bye, Mama, Daddy, Kiki (monkey), ball, puppy, pretty, Papa...etc...
  • Definitely the class clown - if she does something that makes people laugh, she will do it over and over and over and over! Especially with the kids at work.
  • Loves reading stories and will read them by herself a lot...usually while laying on her tummy, flipping the pages and talking the whole time
  • Loves the Elmo "Shake a Leg book" - from this book, she has learned how to shake her leg, pat her head, jiggle her hears, waggle her fingers, wiggle her toes, honk her nose, rub her tummy, etc....
  • Currently has 8 teeth and is working on #9 and #10...she's been a little sad lately and we think it is due to her jaw just hurting SO bad from all the intrusions :)
  • We recently learned that gentleness may not be one of her strengths...when playing with her baby and the stroller, she puts the baby in the stroller, and goes really fast and then stops all of sudden...she does this until the baby falls out at which time she laughs and continues to run over the baby with stroller...all the while, laughing...we won't let her babysit quite yet - lol

We also had her 15 month well-check last Friday and here are her stats :)
  • Weight: 21 lbs (30%)
  • Head: 46 cm (50%)
  • Height 31 in (80%)
The Dr. said repeatedly how tall our little girl is and that she will continue to be tall due to the size of her feet (recently started wearing size 6 - yes, I know, this is HUGE)...apparently, she doesn't get her height from me :).
